Registered users do not see advertisement

I started a Dj business in Oct 2008 i was told not to do the business taxes till 2010 for 2009. I made no money in 08. Now i also started this business with friend with the intent of a partnership, through the county we filed for partnership but never checked it off, i was then told to dissolve that and go as individual business names i would be the main name and he would be our name with a 1 at the end so we can both claim the expenses, is that a good idea? can i do that? i also went through the irs.gov and filed as a partnership and for the state of michigan can that all be changed before i file or do i have to file as a partnership this year and change it for next year. H&R Block are the ones who told me i should not do it as a partnership is that a good idea? please help i have alot of people telling me different things and i just want to file my taxes the right way. thanks
